From 22nd January to 20th February, practitioners from MindWorX, BodyWorX and our Central GP were supported by family friends to take part in the 2022 Weez Walk.
Weez Walk was established in 2021 to raise funds and awareness for self-harm and suicide ideation in children. It involves walking or running the perimeter of Hong Kong Island covering a total distance of 62km.
Psychiatrist Dr Frances Cheng completed the Weez Walk with her family.
Vinci Cheung, Rachel Chan Mazariegos and Dr Keith Hariman from MindWorX also participated.
Some walked and some ran but all were outdone by Jean-Christophe Monnerville, one of our Osteopaths from BodyWorX. He ran it in an outstanding 6 hours and 10 minutes.
So far, we have raised a total of 32,200 HKD for KELY Support Group. KELY develop and deliver preventative mental health programs for young people in Hong Kong. They collaborate with schools and other partners to offer programmes to Chinese and English speaking youth between the ages of 14 and 24. Programmes are focussed around three core areas:
- Drug and Alcohol Awareness
- Mental Health & Wellbeing
- Positive Youth Development
We are still collecting donations and if you’re interested to find out more about OT&P’s other community engagements take a look at our community engagement page.
Congratulations to all participants, we’re looking forward to next year already.
